Behavior
A nocturnal, bottom-dwelling shark, usually solitary. Lives over sand, coral, gravel, or mud substrate, usually at depths of 10-100 m.
Features
Skin covered in small, dense dark spots. Feeds on crustaceans, molluscs, worms, and small fish.
Distribution
Found in the northeast Atlantic from southwestern Scandinavia to Senegal. In Germany found in the North Sea, but not the Baltic.
