Behavior
A bottom-dwelling fish living at depths of 80-200 m and 4-10°C over rock, sand, gravel, or shell substrate.
Features
Distinctive black lateral line and a clear black spot above the pectoral fin.
Distribution
Found in the northeast Atlantic from the Bay of Biscay to the Barents Sea. In Germany mainly in the North Sea, Skagerrak, and Kattegat; only occasional in the Baltic, as far east as Bornholm.
