Behavior
A shoaling fish living near the bottom of large rivers, preferring sandy or gravelly substrate with moderate to fast currents. Nocturnal, feeding on small invertebrates, especially molluscs.
Features
Three broken dark stripes along the flank; a Danube-endemic species.
Distribution
Found only in the Danube basin and some of its tributaries. In Germany in the Danube in Bavaria and Baden-Württemberg, west to Ulm.
