Behavior
Lives in backwaters and slow-flowing stretches of large rivers over sand or mud. Nocturnal. Migrates from the main channel to backwaters to spawn.
Features
Grey flanks with irregular large blotches.
Distribution
Found in the Danube basin (from the delta to Germany) and the Dnieper basin. In Germany only in the Bavarian Danube (near Vilshofen) and its tributaries.
