Features

C. elongatoides: lives in flowing and still waters, from small streams to large rivers, springs, lakes, and oxbows, over sand, silt, or mud. Frequently forms hybrid complexes with C. taenia. Found in the Danube basin and northern Black Sea basin. C. bilineata: a small loach species, taxonomically poorly studied. Found in parts of central and southeastern Europe, with occasional records in the Danube system in Germany.
