Behavior
Lives in the deep waters of glacial cirque lakes and high-altitude lakes in Alpine valleys. Feeds on crustaceans, insects, and bottom-dwelling animals; some individuals grow into large predators.
Features
Reaches a length of up to 75 cm.
Distribution
Found in lakes of the central European Alps. In Germany found in lakes at the northern edge of the Bavarian Alps.
